Jessie says: Today we’re styling one of my favorite staples for fall wear…the scarf! When it comes to scarves, I have very few rules, but important ones, nonetheless. I call this quality over quantity.
Rule #1. NEVER, ever, ever “splurge” on a scarf. Although this accessory is something that can be added to any outfit, it’s not something to spend half your month’s rent on. Honestly, these days a girl can find a cute, inexpensive scarf just about anywhere. Target, Old Navy, H&M, TJ Maxx…the list truly goes on forever. Personally, I won’t spend more than $20, especially because I know that they’ll all end up going on sale towards the end of the season. One of the many ways I have reached “Deal Getter” status.
Rule #2. There is no such thing as “too bold of a print.” When it comes to a successful outfit, prints are everything. Unfortunately, prints aren’t universal—meaning, some look better on the mannequin than they do when we try them on. Luckily, with scarves that is very rarely the case. I see them as an accessory where you can definitely go bold or go home…and I don’t think I’m ready to go home just yet 🙂
Now, on to styling them!
When it comes to throw and go, I definitely vote for the infinity scarf. Literally, all you have to do it throw it over your head and walk out the door. It certainly can’t get better than that!
If I have more time, I’ll put a bit more effort into getting the right tie/knot. I guess that is a lie…I typically don’t tie them. Instead, I wrap it around my neck once, and leave both sides hanging for an effortless vibe. I also like this because I can continue to readjust during the day without spending a good 5 minutes trying to work out the knot I tied earlier.
Taylor: I love scarves! Jessie’s right, never splurge on a scarf! If it’s just an accessory, you can pick them up fairly cheaply throughout the year. If you want a higher quality one to keep you warm through the winter, now that’s a totally different story 😉 Michigan is doing that awkward “is it fall or is it winter or is maybe still summer” thing right now, so below I styled a fringe scarf that is super warm, yet stylish and light enough to transition from day-to-night! Or from 65 degree days to snow the next. Thanks, Michigan!
Styling this look was fun, mostly because of that t-shirt! I’m in college, and I love traveling and clothes. So ya, girls just wanna have funds! I was going shopping this day so I went for a casual cute outfit that would be easy to change out of for trying on clothes! The Lenore scarf adds a perfect pop of color.
Here is a close up of how I adjusted the scarf to make it lay right!
I loved styling this rust colored Lenore scarf with a maxi dress for fall! It’s a perfect way to help transition pieces that you would normally wear for warmer weather.
