Do you ever feel like you’re trying to do it all? Like no one else but YOU could do as good of a job, so you must be the only one to do it? Or maybe you want to lessen the burden for others by trying to take on more? Do you fear missing out on opportunities, always saying “yes” to the next big thing so that it doesn’t pass you by?
I know it’s hard. I know there are days where you feel like you just can’t juggle it all anymore. Days where your to-do list is longer than the book on your bedside table; you know that book you’ve been unable to enjoy for weeks?
Take a breath. Step back from your desk. Your chair. Your planner with it’s perfectly color-coded appointments.
Now take some time to reflect on what you really want. Listen to the whispers of your heart. Is it more time with family? Do you want freedom to travel & experience the world? Do you ache for the ability to stay home with your kids? Are you longing for the ability to wake up excited for the day, even if it IS a Monday? Are you really being true to who you want to be? Who you know you are?
As I’m suggesting taking a few things off of your plate, I’m going to ask you to put just one on. Commit with me. Commit that you will stop chasing ‘perfection’, whatever that means to you.
Commit to less.
Commit to holding yourself to high moral character, not a higher place in society.
Commit to freeing yourself from the chase.
Commit to a better way to live.
Right now, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. All of your stress, your flaws, your worries, are a part of your story. And God does incredible things with our stories, with our broken pieces when we give them to Him. Don’t worry anymore, friend. You, you are truly incredible. I don’t care if you don’t have a Pinterest worthy-birthday party for your kids, or a body that could model for VS. And I don’t care if you DO have those things, as long as they are important to you. You don’t have to be ‘perfect’ for me to like you. Bad jokes and all, I treasure you.
